Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 tablespoons Anchor butter
  • 3 tablespoons Five Roses flour
  • 2 cups Full Cream Milk
  • 1 1/2 cups Anchor Shredded Cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Mainland Parmesan Cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease a baking dish and set it aside
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a generous pinch of salt and the broccoli florets. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside. In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the Anchor butter over medium heat. Add the Five Roses Flour and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes until it forms a smooth paste. Gradually pour in the Milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook and whisk until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the shredded Anchor Cheese until it's melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste
  3. Combine Broccoli and Cheese Sauce: Place the blanched broccoli in the prepared baking dish. Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the broccoli. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the broccoli and cheese sauce
  4. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly. Allow the gratin to cool for a few minutes before serving

Serve and Enjoy!
