Ingredients

  • 2 cassavas (chopped)
  • ½ fresh coconut flesh (chopped)
  • 1 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1 cup pumpkin (chopped)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ lb Golden Brand margarine (2 sticks)
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp cloves (powdered)
  • ¼ Maraschino cherries (chopped)
  • Raisins (as desired)
  • 1 cup Condensed Milk

Directions

  1. Chop the cassava into small pieces
  2. Blend in food processor
  3. Blend coconut flesh with Evaporated Milk
  4. Add to blended cassava
  5. Blend chopped pumpkin
  6. Add to mixture
  7. Add sugar and continue to blend
  8. Add ½ lb Golden Brand margarine and continue to blend
  9. Add ginger, pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and cloves
  10. Add raisins and chopped cherries and mix
  11. Add Condensed Milk
  12. Grease a baking pan and preheat the oven 350F
  13. Pour mixture into baking pan
  14. Fill a foil baking pan with water and place under the pone dish in the oven to prevent burning of pone
  15. Bake for 1 hour
  16. Remove from oven and let it sit for 30 minutes
